emails
umm... i send an email to a division 3 school about playing soccer, and this is the shit i get back?!?!?! ahhh!!!!
"Hi Eric,
Thank you for your inquiry into soccer at Case. We will have over 40 people out for the team this fall for only 26 spots. If you wish to try out, you will need to provide evidence of your ability to play before I can allow that to take place. Videotape would be the best. If I do invite you to try out, you will have to be able to run 1600 meters in under 5:45, complete 100 sit-ups in under 2 minutes and in good form as well as completing at least 40 pushups in good form. The second two have to happen with only 10 minutes rest after your timed run. Our summer training program begins at the end of May and I will need this information before then if you wish to pursue this. We have a very strong recruiting class coming in so I will share with you it is highly unlikely you will make the team if you do try out. With as many recruited and returning players coming out for the team, if your abilities are comparable to theirs, they will make the team before you. To make the team, you will probably have to be a starter. Based on what you have shared, I think that is highly unlikely. Finally, if you do make the team, you will have to train throughout the year participating in our weight training, conditioning, and out of season practices. Please reply to me ASAP if you wish to pursue this further.

fuck that
and another important email today... (wow, i never get important stuff, and here's 2 in one day)...:
"St. X / Urs. Ultimate team,
See below, from Ned, the format for tomorrow's tournement. It was just received, so I apologize for the late notice.
Note that we finished 4th in the regular season, which is spectacular for a first-year team.
HOWEVER, we are in the absolutely toughtest bracket of all, and we MUST come out to play in game 1 if we are to make a decent showing tomorrow. I have seen too many times that a team that plays well during the season collapses at the tournement, or a team that has struggled during the season comes out and clobbers all comers. I truly believe that each of our pool-play games are up-for-grabs and the two low-ranked teams are both better than their ranking.
Further, all the other teams in our bracket have played each other, except us. They will be much better prepared, and we have very little basis for evaluating them. Still, I will give it a shot.
Our bracket includes:
Game #1 = Sycamore (very under-rated at #9). I coached them last year, and Bob Schaedler is coaching them this year. He is good, and they are tough. They beat Moeller 15-4, and we barely got past Moeller (8-7) on a windy day. Still, they are only a second-year team, so we have a fighting chance. They may throw a zone, but I doubt it.
Game#2 = Walnut HIlls. Coached by Nick DiNardo, they are a veteran team that plays a tough zone, and has a lot of good athletes. Get psyched. Winning this game would make the whole season. Bear in mind that they beat Lebanon (who clobbered us). Play like professionals, with no mistakes, and we can win this one. They will not make mistakes.
Game #3 = Wyoming. Coached by one of YUC's most veteran coaches, George White, and one of the oldest teams in YUC. I coached them 2-years ago, but this year thay have mostly new people. They were a power-house every year until now, and could be a nasty surprise. They beat Sycamore, but lost to Lakota B, so anything could happen. Play your best game, and you will beat them. Lose your cool and you will lose your game. They may throw a zone.
Have a great prom, and see you in the morning.
Phil"
FUCK! sycamore and walnut hills... we fucking screwed... dont tell the rest of the frisbee team that i said that
